This is the garden update on winter solstice 2011. This is my first video publication sorry it's a little shaky, next time I will do better. I plan on getting some video mentoring soon. Our total poundage for the year is 1694 pounds! Thats nearly 4x the poundage of last year and we were late to plant! 2012 should be even better!
Our goal is to provide our members with healthy produce for for self suffiency and food security. To promote, fund raise, educate, distribute seed and seedlings, mentor the area’s gleaner and donor families one garden at a time. Helping people help themselves with the Gleaner supplemental food program. The Tualatin Valley Gleaners distributed over 400,000 pounds of food last year. Our program works strictly on donations and volunteers, any help you can provide would be appreciated.

It is much better to share your bounty than to let it rot on the vine, plant or tree. If you have extra harvest, please feel free to bring it to the Beaverton Resource Center on Saturdays between 12:30 -2pm for distribution.
If you have a large field that needs gleaning, give gleaners a call instead of letting it go to waste.
